Seattle Seahawks running backs Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch decided to street race — it didn’t end well.
UPDATE: Jason LaCanfora from CBSSports isn’t convinced that Marshawn Lynch was involved in the crash at all. HE also reports that Jackson appears to be ‘fine’:
Seattle Seahawks running back Fred Jackson was reportedly in a car accident on Tuesday evening, the result of his decision to allegedly race Marshawn Lynch.
TMZ is reporting that Jackson lost control of his Corvette and slammed into a stop sign. Seahawks officials showed up at the scene of the accident to take Jackson back to the team’s facilities and further evaluate him for injury. Lynch reportedly left the accident without any injuries.
It appears that only Jackson’s car crashed, and everyone around the NFL is hoping this isn’t a serious crash.
Here’s the scene of the accident, which makes it look not as bad as it sounds:
Still, this isn’t anything to mess around about. High speed crashes have killed hundreds of people over the last few years, including actor Paul Walker, who died in November 2013 in a car crash. Jackass star Ryan Dunn was killed in a high speed crash too, so when you hear these types of things come across the wire, you instantly think the worst.
While it appears that this isn’t a serious crash, it’s unknown if Jackson suffered any injuries — life threatening or not.
