Each NBA player has his own origin story of where he began playing basketball. These stories have a setting unique to each individual — the basket that these men spent their childhoods while molding their games. They came to playground or the gym, despite the unbearable heat or the freezing cold, to play the game they discovered a love for.
The New York Knicks gave this opportunity to kids in Queens. Cleanthony Early, Kevin Seraphin and Kyle O’Quinn represented the franchise to open a new court at Roy Wilkins Playground.

Kyle O’Quinn actually hails from Queens and used to attend this court in his childhood, so it seems only right that he would help to promote its reopening.
