Panthers quarterback Cam Newton had some scolding hot takes about the media

The Carolina Panthers are 5-0 as they head into Week 7 of the 2015 NFL season and a big reason for that is the fact that quarterback Cam Newton has been playing like a potential MVP candidate to this point. Newton, despite a lack of weapons around him in the receiving game, has been phenomenal to this point. His on-field performance has been undeniable, just as his latest comments on the media are undeniably head turning.

During a press conference, Newton was asked to essentially give his thoughts on the media. This was how the quarterback responded:

Any point he was trying to make is overshadowed by the fact that Newton just said that he thinks that members of the media should essentially be fined or penalized when they make a bold prediction that turns out to be wrong. In fairness, he does say the media should be given incentives for correct bold predictions, but that doesn’t really make what he’s saying any less outlandish.

Newton has a tendency to make off-the-wall comments such as this from time to time. It doesn’t particularly hurt anyone and doesn’t have any real consequences other than just leaving everyone scratching their heads.
