John Wall crossed up then drilled a jumper right in Chris ‘Birdman’ Andersen’s eye

The NBA preseason is winding down and that means that starters are beginning to play closer to their normal load of minutes on a nightly basis. So in the third quarter of the Washington Wizards’ matchup with the Miami Heat, that left John Wall and Chris “Birdman” Andersen still on the floor. After what happened, Birdman probably wishes that wasn’t the case.

Andersen was out on the wing on defense covering Wall off of a switch. The Wizards point guard then decided to cut loose a little bit as he absolutely shredded Birdman off of the dribble and then went on to nail a fall-away jumper right in the Heat center’s eye:

That is not a very nice way to treat your peers, John.

Wall obviously isn’t going to have an aging center guarding him on every play this season, but we’ve seen what he’s capable of against ample defenders. With his explosiveness and still improving shot-making ability, Wall is becoming increasingly impossible to stop on the offensive end of the floor. If he makes another leap forward, he could sneakily make a case for being one of the 10-15 best players in the NBA this season.
