The last time that we saw Kyle Korver on the floor last season it wasn’t a pleasant site, as he was down on the ground following a collision that left him with a right ankle that was so hurt it required surgery. For a player who had finally found a perfect home and role, it was a devastating way for the season to end for a well-deserving All-Star. While there were rightfully concerns about how Korver would bounce back from the injury due to his age and already limited athleticism, he took the chance to show that he is back and plenty healthy on Wednesday night against the Memphis Grizzlies.

While the dunk may seem simple compared to many we feature here at The Friendly Bounce, proper perspective is needed. Not only is Korver coming back from a significant injury, he is now one-fourth of the way to tying his career high for dunks in a season set way back in the 2008-09 season when he was a member of the Utah Jazz.
Considering how easy that Korver got up to throw down the jam, it isn’t crazy to ask if he could top that number this season. Atlanta’s defense should be good enough to get enough easy run out opportunities and if Korver is at the front maybe he throws down something like five dunks this season.
Considering that Korver hit one of his trademark long threes as the trailer in transition on his next touch it seems safe to say that he feels pretty good right now. Considering how much fun he is when healthy in this Hawks system that is great news for everyone involved.
