With the Mets up 3-0 on the Cubs in the NLCS, the team website prematurely put up NL Championship gear.

The New York Mets could be moving onto the World Series if they complete the sweep over the Chicago Cubs in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series. While coming back from a 3-0 deficit is next to impossible, except for one memorable instance in 2004, it’s almost a guarantee the Mets are moving on at this point.

Still, it isn’t over until it’s over, and until the Mets win that fourth game this series is continuing until someone does. Unfortunately, the New York Mets’ website didn’t get that memo as they put up NL Champions gear before the Mets even played Game 4 against the Cubs.

For those that are superstitious, this is probably the time to look away if you believe in jinxes and what not. When it comes to playing a team like the Cubs with a curse, nothing is taken for granted and the Mets faithful probably would rather their team didn’t jump the gun.

In all likelihood, the Mets are moving on, but the New York Yankees once thought the same thing over a decade ago when they played a team under general manager Theo Epstein that was facing a long curse.

It’s happened before and the Mets don’t want to repeat history. Now if they win Game 4, then all the worries can go away and the Mets website can get back to shilling championship gear to fans across the world.

To do that, they have to win the game first.
