For years, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton was considered in the same breath as Ryan Tannehill and Alex Smith. All were looked upon as game managers, and Dalton got the brunt of the blame in each of the past four seasons, when the Bengals could not advance out of the Wild Card round. In 2015, things finally have clicked for the 2011 second-round draft pick out of TCU.

The Bengals are not only 6-0 and leading the AFC North by two games, but Dalton is one of the main reasons. Dalton has thrown for 1,761 yards, only behind Philip Rivers in that category. Most impressively, Dalton is averaging 9.12 yards per attempt, best in the NFL. Dalton also has 14 touchdown passes to his credit, versus only two interceptions.

If the red-headed rifle can continue to play like this, he would be quite the story and moreover, a legitimate MVP candidate.
