During an interview with reporters on Wednesday, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady said he would like to play another ten years.

Fans of teams in the AFC East not named the New England Patriots should probably not read any further. During an interview with New York reporters before the Patriots take on the Jets this Sunday, Tom Brady mentioned to them just how much longer in this league he wants to play.

According to Dom Cosentino of NJ.com, Brady wants to play 10 more years if his body holds up. 10 MORE YEARS! The Patriots quarterback broke it down even further on just how much longer he wants to play as a quarterback in the National Football League.

"“It’s not always up to me; that’s what my goals are,” Brady said. “That’s just what I’m hoping. It’ll take a lot to achieve that. Obivously, a team has to want you. I love playing this sport. I love making the commitment to my teammates and my coaches, and hopefully I can go for a long time.”"

The first thought that comes to mind is that, if true, the New England Patriots are still going to be a force to be reckoned with for a very long time. It’s already apparent this season that there might not be many teams that can match them as they run wild on the NFL, seeking revenge for the mud they were dragged through in the off-season.

The second thought is would Brady be able to hold up in the National Football League for 10 more seasons? Tom Brady is currently 38 years old and looks just as good as he did in his prime. He’s certainly got many more seasons in him and hasn’t shown any signs of a drop off like Peyton Manning, but could his body physically carry him to 48 years old in the NFL. That almost seems impossible with the speed and physicality of the game.

If there’s anyone that can be successful at a high level at a later age, it’s Tom Brady. He’s doing it now actually, and if he has his way he’s going to do it for another decade in the NFL, while the rest of the league pleads for mercy.
