Report: Fred Jackson was revving engine and racing according to eyewitness
Despite local police and Seattle Seahawks running back Fred Jackson denying that he was racing, TMZ is reporting that Jackson was indeed doing just that according to eyewitness testimony.
When the story of Fred Jackson’s car crash after practice seemed to be put to rest, it’s apparently back open as TMZ continues to follow the incident.
Yesterday, TMZ originally reported that Jackson was drag racing after practice and wrecked his car. A followup from local police and Jackson himself on Twitter stated that he wasn’t drag racing, but rather lost control of his car and that led to him wrecking.
Well despite local police and Jackson denying that he was drag racing, TMZ is insisting that Jackson was indeed racing and they even used eyewitness testimony in their report from fans near the practice facility waiting to get autographs that saw the whole thing unfold.
"“They were both stopped at the same time, they both revved their engines and they both left without stopping,” says Jason, who was with his buddies at the time … “We were like what are these idiots doing?”"
So according to the fan that was at the practice facility, Jackson was indeed racing a mystery person and lost control of his car as he wrecked. The report also goes on to say that police never bothered to interview the fans that were there and watched the whole thing.
While this story seems to be put the rest since the police have said there is no evidence of drag racing, TMZ hasn’t let up and are insisting that Jackson was indeed racing after practice.
Regardless of what happened, this is not a useless distraction that the Seahawks need as they try to save their season before it gets away from them. The team is on a short week, and will play the San Francisco 49ers on the road Thursday night.
