College Football Picks Against The Spread October 22-23

facebooktwitterreddit

We have five games on tap between Thursday and Friday this week. Want them picked? You can find that anywhere. Want them picked against the spread? Now that is a little more tricky!

In case you don’t know what I do here, I pick every college football game of the season. Against the spread. Trust me, it’s not as easy as it sounds! I take the average of the odds from all of the Vegas casinos. I then round to the nearest half. There will be no ties here. Ties are for the other football (soccer).

In case you missed how the point scale works, here is a brief rundown:

5. A lock. I am comfortable making a sizable wager on this game.

4. Very confident. Not quite a lock, but I am comfortable making a decent sized wager on it.

3. Middle of the road. Good enough that I would make a small wager on it.

2. Could go either way. So much so that I wouldn’t bet on it.

1. Stay away from these.

Take note that any games that involve 1-AA teams will NOT be picked. There simply is not enough information to get an accurate spread.

My season mark is 183-181 so far. I am still above .500, but my goal was 55%. I am still a little short of that.

All of the picks for the Saturday games will be up at least two hours before the noon kickoffs for those of you parlayers out there!

Here are the college football picks against the spread October 22-23:

There is proof of my pick for Tuesday! Here are the rest!

(22)Temple at East Carolina(-2.5)(5): Really? ECU has a solid team, but they haven’t played a defense the caliber of Temple. I still like Temple straight up, even though the Pirates keep it close at home.

Georgia Southern at Appalachian State(-6.5)(2): Only one site has this at 6.5. The rest have it at 6. This will be a fun one to watch if you like old fashioned option football. Marcus Cox and Matt Breida are both good backs. This one should stay really close. Give me Georgia Southern.

(20)California at UCLA(-3.5)(3): UCLA should be getting docked seven points for being at home. That’s how poorly they have played in L.A. this year. The Bruins have also been torched through the air so far. That is great news for Cal. I like the Bears here.

(18)Memphis(-10.5) at Tulsa(3): I am putting less confidence on this game because of the impeding hangover, but man, Tulsa can’t stop anyone. This should be a huge day for Paxton Lynch and company. Give me Memphis.

Utah State(-5.5) at San Diego State(4): After seeing what the Aggies just did to a very good Boise defense, I have to believe they can hold their own against a really good Aztec defense. Give me Utah State.
