Matt Harvey was in the building on Thursday night for the New York Rangers game and he got an amazing welcome

Wednesday night, the New York Mets punched their first ticket to the World Series since the 2000 season. Of course, one of the stars that helped the team get to this point is starting pitcher Matt Harvey, who has become quite the darling of New York over the past few seasons.

All of this considered, his popularity was no more evident than it was on Thursday night at the New York Rangers game.

The Rangers are taking on the Arizona Coyotes inside the confines of Madison Square Garden on Thursday night, and with the Mets having some time off here until the World Series, Harvey decided to take in some hockey action. The team then showed some highlights of the clincher on Wednesday before showing Harvey on the screen.

Needless to say, the crowd in attendance went pretty wild for one of their heroes.

Yeah, it’s more than safe to say that the people of New York love Harvey, as well as what this Mets team has been able to accomplish this season. But, hey, when you help a team reach their first World Series in 15 years, you’re going to be more beloved than ever.
