The New York Jets are visiting the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium this Sunday for the first matchup this year between the two teams. The duel will be for first place in the AFC East, with New England sitting at 5-0 and New York a game behind at 4-1.

Jets defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson is apparently unconcerned with having to face Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, a for that has bedeviled New York for years. Richardson all but guaranteed a victory, per Rich Cimini of ESPN.

"“This is going to be another win for us,” Richardson told Metro New York. “We’ll let you all write the columns about validating wins and stuff like that. This is going to be another win in the win column if we got out there and execute and do what we’re supposed to do.”"

Richardson is a heck of a player and one of the best at his position in the National Football League. Still, one would think that Richardson would want to keep a low profile this year after being both suspended for the first four games of the campaign (PED violation) and a charge of resisting arrest this summer in Arizona.

Richardson then added this to this previous comment, per Cimini:

"“We’re going to be up in the division. That’s how we’re going to look at it,” Richardson added. “We’re going to be the front-runners. That’s how we look at it.”"

These comments should only add fuel to the fire in a rivalry that always seems to be burning white-hot for one reason or another.
