Dallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones says Dez Bryant has more work to do before returning.
It looks like Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant returning this weekend isn’t going to happen. Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said Bryant has some more work to do before being cleared to return.
“He’s got some work to do if he’s going to be able to play,” Jones said Friday on 105.3 The Fan’s Ben and Skin show [KRLD-FM], via the Dallas Morning News. “We’ll probably take a look at him when we get to [MetLife Stadium] and make our final decision. At the same time, we want to make sure that we make the right call, and we know that we still have a long season ahead of us.
“We’ll see when we get there and see how he’s feeling, see how sore he is. He’s been doing a lot of work this week, so see if some of that soreness kind of goes away on him, see if he would feel good about it and then see how he might warm up. But right now, we’ll just have to wait and see how it goes.”
It still looks like Bryant is not going to be able to play, even though Jones is saying what fans clinging to hope want to hear.
