You know the MLB playoffs are intense when libraries get involved in smack talk.

The Toronto Blue Jays and Kansas City Royals are locked in a relatively exciting American League Championship Series, and even public libraries are feeling the heat of this series. The Royals are one win away from returning to the World Series, but the Blue Jays can become American League champions with two consecutive wins. A Kansas City public library poked at the Blue Jays, saying that their season is over by posting a picture with a pile of books to illustrate how they believe this series will end.

However, the Blue Jays are not scared despite being one loss away from elimination. A Toronto public library showed this by posting a response to the Royals. They pointed out that the series is not over, and they placed a Blue Jays mug next to the pile of books for good measure.

The Blue Jays will have to back up their words on Friday in Game 6, as they will either have to go back home to Toronto or force a Game 7. They also have to reach the World Series in front of Royals fans, as the Royals have their final two games at Kauffman Stadium due to home-field advantage.

The Twitter war did not end there, as the public libraries’ Twitter accounts continued to rip the opposing teams with even bigger piles of books with fitting titles.
