No. 15 Texas A&M Aggies vs. No. 24 Ole Miss Rebels

A week ago, this game was looking like a possible College GameDay destination, but since both teams are coming off tough week seven loss, the Texas A&M Aggies and Ole Miss Rebels will be playing for the right to stay alive in the College Football Playoff race.

Texas A&M is having a surprisingly successful season thus far, despite losing to Alabama at home last weekend. Kyle Allen is one of the more impressive young quarterbacks in the nation, passing for 1,537 yards, 14 touchdowns and five interceptions for the 5-1 Aggies. Freshman receiver Christian Kirk has been a revelation for Texas A&M, catching 39 passes for 609 yards and four touchdowns.

Ole Miss has an impressive quarterback of its own entering the only Top 25 matchup of week eight. Chad Kelly leads the SEC with 2,234 yards and 16 touchdowns, but he’s also second in the league in interceptions with seven. The Rebels might have a tough time passing against the Aggies this week, though as they allow just 183 yards per game through the air.

The winner of this one improves to 3-1 in conference play and in a solid second-place in the SEC West. However, the Rebels would be tied with Alabama for second and in the case that they both finish with one loss in conference play, Ole Miss would hold the tie-breaker. The same cannot be said for the Aggies who lost to Alabama this year.
