The Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars squared off in a contest across the pond in England.
At some point, you’ve gotta start feeling sorry for the folks across the pond. It doesn’t seem to matter the team, yet whenever a game is played in Wembley Stadium it always seems to devolve into a slop fest. Sunday’s game between the Buffalo Bills and the Jacksonville Jaguars was more of the same.
For the game’s early going, Buffalo just couldn’t stay out of its way. The Bills were a turnover machine, coughing up a fumble and an interception that were both returned for Jaguars touchdowns. E.J. Manuel did everything he could to make Bills fans long for Tyrod Taylor with his two picks and one interception.
And yet, the plucky Bills stuck around and posted 18 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to make a game of things. The Jags wouldn’t be denied, and fired back right before the two-minute warning to drive things to 34-31. Talk about a game of waves. From slop to a grinding halt of a third quarter to a feisty fourth of non-stop action. It may not have been the prettiest of affairs, but the folks in London sure got their money’s worth by game’s end.
