The Philadelphia Eagles are trailing the Carolina Panthers, 14-6, at halftime of Sunday Night Football at Bank of America Stadium. However, it would have been even worse without one of the nicest interceptions of the young season, courtesy of Malcolm Jenkins.

Jenkins was able to jump the out route and dove, getting his hands on the ball and holding on upon hitting the ground. Jenkins is one of the better defensive backs in the game, able to play in both corner and safety roles.

The play led to Philadelphia getting a late field goal in the second quarter and cutting Carolina’s lead to one possession going into the third quarter. The Eagles are 3-3 and trying to keep their first-place standing in the woeful NFC East. Philadelphia would be tied with the New York Giants should it win tonight, and holds the tiebreaker on New York because of the head-to-head win last week.

Philadelphia was expected to roll to a playoff spot in the NFC, competing with the Dallas Cowboys for the division title. Instead, Dallas has been crushed by injuries and the Eagles can’t seem to get off the ground with their new offense. To make matters even worse, left tackle Jason Peters went down with what is being called a back injury and did not return on Sunday night. Peters had to be carted off the field and was in obvious pain.
