Cowboys Executive Vice President Stephen Jones would like to get a long-term extension with Greg Hardy done

Over the past 24 hours, a lot of the talk around the NFL has been centered around Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy. After just two games, there are already issues, mainly the antics he displayed on the sideline Sunday during the team’s loss to the New York Giants. Since then, many have called for the Cowboys to just plain and simple cut their losses, admit their mistake in signing Hardy in the first place and move one.

This is why what you’re about to hear may make you shake your head until your neck hurts.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Executive Vice President Stephen Jones appeared on the radio Monday and this is where he somehow admitted that the team would like to get Hardy inked to a long-term deal.

"Jones said during a Monday radio interview on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM] that the team “absolutely” would like to get a long-term deal done with Hardy, adding that it’s, “very much a possibility.”"

Now, just for perspective, this is talk about re-signing someone who was suspended for domestic violence, had a tasteless rap video come to light and slapped a clipboard out of the hands of the team’s special teams coordinator. Yes, this is something that apparently the Cowboys are seriously considering.
