One of the best in the business in Craig Sager is back on the sidelines to start the 2015-16 season
Legendary sideline reporter Craig Sager has been a staple in the coverage of the NBA for decades. His presence along with his fashion sense have made him one of the most recognizable and beloved figures in the league. However, a lengthy battle with leukemia forced him to miss most of last season as he was undergoing treatment and recovering.
With the 2015-16 NBA season getting underway on Tuesday, the legend returned to his post, where every fan of the league wanted him to be.
As part of the NBA on TNT’s tip-off coverage of the NBA’s opening day of the season, Sager delivered a heartfelt monologue as a sort of introduction to the 2015-16 season. Just hearing Sager’s voice was enough to induce chills for fans.
Sager wasn’t done there as he was diving headfirst back into the job he loved as the show then aired an interview between Sager and reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry. Moreover, Sager will be on the sidelines of an NBA game for the season-opener on Sunday night.
Especially considering the devastating news regarding Flip Saunders on Sunday, it’s fantastic to see Sager back and recovering from his bout with cancer. Hopefully he continues his road to health and we get to keep enjoying his presence on our televisions.
