Week 7 Most Valuable Player

Tom Brady, QB New England Patriots

Brady was ridiculous in Week 7, and given that he is always facing a higher standard than much of the league, his performance was even more remarkable. Brady led all NFL quarterbacks with 355 yards through the air, and he tossed two touchdowns without issuing a single interception against one of the best defenses in the league.

Beyond that, Brady completed 34 of his 54 passes, which may not seem stellar, but context is needed. Ben Stockwell of Pro Football Focus brings word (via Twitter) that the Patriots dropped nine passes on the day. For reference on that number, only eight passes from the arm of Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers have been dropped all season.

Sometimes the quarterback needs help, but even when he does not get it, Tom Brady does enough to lead his team to victory against a quality opponent. There may be brushback for picking Brady as the weekly MVP yet again, but he deserves it. There is no way around speaking about his incredible performance level to this point in the 2015 NFL season.

Runner-up: Kirk Cousins, QB Washington
