After Carlos Boozer once had hair that looked painted-on when he played for the Chicago Bulls, he finally answered what was happening with the top of his head.

When Carlos Boozer was a member of the Chicago Bulls, he once notably showed up for a game against the Boston Celtics looking like he had poured shoe polish over his head. Ever since, Boozer has been receiving grief from everyone wondering what exactly happened to the top of his head.

For almost five years, theories have been flying around about what exactly what was on the top of his dome. Did the balding Boozer paint his head? Was it shoe polish? Was he playing a joke? Whatever it was fans have been dying to know what exactly happened on that faithful evening in Boston?

Well Boozer appeared on ESPN’s Highly Questionable, and finally answered the question of what exactly was protruding from his scalp that night.

It turns out that Boozer, who was balding, was considering growing back his hair. However, there were too many bald patches and he decided that it was just not worth it.

Someone had convinced Boozer that if he just grew his hair out a little bit, they could use a special dye called “Beijing” that would cover up the rest and make it look good. Instead, it gave off the look of polish right on the top of his dome and Boozer, a good sport, has been laughing it off since and has decided never again will he try to dye it.

The mystery has been solved.
