Marc Trestman is completely unfit to be an NFL coach if reports involving him and Jeremiah Ratliff are true.

Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator and former Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman is not known for being a respected coach around the NFL. He is sure to lose even more respect from the NFL after a disturbing story surfaced via Mike Freeman at Bleacher Report. The story reports that former Bears defensive tackle Jeremiah Ratliff showed up to practice and threw a fit of rage. This involved him acting belligerently toward players and coaches.

"In the last week of the season, on a Friday, according to a player who witnessed the entire incident, Ratliff showed up to practice and was behaving belligerently toward players and coaches. The coaching regime, then led by Marc Trestman, would not allow him to practice.Ratliff went ballistic … and was asked to leave practice. He departed but later returned. Practice was stopped and most players went off to the side while a small group of players and coaches tried to calm Ratliff down and get him to leave."

He even went on to shove an assistant coach while destroying the game clock in the practice field after players and coaches attempted to calm him down. This was to no avail though, as Trestman allegedly just stood there and watched. He also made Ratliff a captain for the Bears’ next game, which greatly angered the other players. This may very well be what caused Trestman to get fired shortly after his second season with the Bears.

Ratliff has continued to show his anger issues with the Bears this season, as he was involved in a heated argument with general manager Ryan Pace. Ratliff became so angry that police had to be called to escort him out of the building. This makes Trestman idleness last season look even more ridiculous. It was already no secret that the Bears had drama brewing in the locker room, but Ratliff’s fits of anger makes their 2014 season look even more disastrous.

Trestman’s enabling nature has paid little dividend this season, as well. The Ravens’ offense continues to struggle, as they now hold a 1-6 record after entering this season with Super Bowl expectations.
