NBA to investigate Austin Rivers cushion throwing incident

Austin Rivers will probably be in a lot of trouble for throwing a fit during the Los Angeles Clippers’ season opener.
Los Angeles Clippers guard Austin Rivers may be in big trouble for an incident during the Clippers’ season opener against the Sacramento Kings. Rivers vented his frustration in a relatively destructive way by chucking a seat cushion into the stands, and a fan was hit by this cushion. The Los Angeles Times reports that this incident will be investigated, and Rivers may be facing disciplinary action. It is possible that he may receive a suspension since the fan claims that she was hit in the eye, according to BET.
She also said that being hit in the eye caused her discomfort throughout the night, which is sure to work against the Clippers backup guard’s favor. Even Rivers’ father, Clippers head coach Doc Rivers, is sure to be shaking his head at Rivers for his fit of rage. Rivers was frustrated with his performance, as he only scored three points in 16 minutes. However, he made a critical play at the end by stealing the ball from Kings center DeMarcus Cousins. This helped seal the Clippers’ win.
Rivers is not known for being one of the better Clippers players, but head coach Doc Rivers will still find it hard to make people believe that he is not favoring his son. Although Rivers has flashed moments of brilliance off the bench, he will have to prove that he can do so on a consistent basis while showing discipline.
