Comedian Daniel Tosh bet on the Patriots to win and won a bunch of money to help his friend pay medical bills.
Comedy Central TV personality Daniel Tosh is a divisive comedian. People either love him and think his “edgy” brand of comedy is genius, or people don’t like him.
But his detractors have to be a fan of what Tosh did this week.
First, Daniel Tosh auctioned off props and costumes from his show to raise $25,000 to help his friend and fellow stand-up comedian Andy Ritchie pay for his medical bills. Ritchie has been diagnosed with a brain tumor.
He then took the $25,000 and bet that money on the New England Patriots to cover the three-point spread at the end of the first-half.
Since the Patriots were up 19-0 at the half, Tosh covered and won his bet.
It is interesting that Tosh bet on the Patriots given his Super Bowl rant last year, and his allegiance to the Miami Dolphins. Tosh also threw a jab at his Dolphins team in the tweet.
