NBA unveils Christmas Day uniforms and they are perfect
The NBA released their Christmas Day uniforms for the Bulls, Clippers, Spurs, Warriors, and Thunder, and they are shockingly tasteful.
Adidas’ reign as the official jersey supplier for the NBA has been rocky at best, with some questionable choices in terms of uniform designs and alternate jerseys over the years. However, the company achieved a rare slam dunk with the alternative kits that it recently unveiled for Christmas Day.
Christmas Day will feature match-ups that include the Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Clippers, Oklahoma City Thunder and more. As such, the league wanted to do everything it can to put a winner on the court for the NBA’s single biggest day of the year.
One would say they accomplished their goal.
First off, we have to give the NBA and Adidas credit for doing a tasteful, throwback style uniform that at its core is simply elegant. No sleeves, not added schill, just the team name is a beautiful cursive script, the team number, and the name. The wax stamp watermark on the back of the jerseys is also pretty classy, as is the championship tag on the back collar.
Added together, all elements of the uniform are nearly perfect. The only gripe would be the printed socks that go right up there with the ugly Christmas tree tie that at least one person in your office will wear this season. But given the fact that the league is doing a lot of printed socks as tributes this year, one could almost forgive this single blemish.
