Happy Sunday! Week 7 of the 2015 NFL season was, once again, kind to us from a handicapping standpoint with another positive week. However, we will not rest on our laurels at this point in the campaign, as excellence can be achieved if we simply stick to our principles.

The main principle is, of course, that we “fade the public” in this space, ignoring common perception and going against the grain in contrarian fashion. It has been pretty successful to this point, and as we know, there is a reason that Las Vegas casinos stay in business. You want to be on their side. Let’s take a look at our record before the picks arrive.

  • Last week: 3-2
  • Season: 20-15

Without any more chatter, let’s unveil this week’s picks. Best of luck to us all.

New York Giants (+3) over New Orleans Saints

The Giants are better than the Saints. That is the basic premise here, as Las Vegas installed a line that basically states that the two teams are even. Yes, New Orleans has won back-to-back games, but this is not your older brother’s Saints offense, as Drew Brees isn’t quite the same player and the pass-catching weapons are heavily lacking.

Beyond that, the public really seems to like New Orleans in this spot, with more than 75% of the action (via Vegas Insider) on the home favorite, and that makes me want to go the other way, especially given my propensity to back the Giants on the road. Let’s ride, Eli Manning.
