Fantasy Football: NFL DraftKings Cash Game Plays For Week 8
We’re coming up to the halfway point of the NFL season. I hope your DFS playing has led to a profit so far, or at least not too many losses. Playing cash game lineups is necessary for bankroll management and making sure that you can take the risk in GPPs. This week I think works especially well for 50/50 and head to head players; there’s tons of chalk, a couple matchups that should be exploited, and plenty of great plays at every price range.
My two favorite games which I need players from are San Diego at Baltimore (-3.5, 50.5 total) and Cincinnati at Pittsburgh (-1, 48.5 total). You can fill out an entire roster from these four teams, but I’ll try to bring in a few more unique plays here and there just in case one or both of those games go bad. Here is a list of a few options at every position that I’m going to be rotating in my cash game lineups in week 8.
Next: Quarterbacks & Running Backs

Quarterbacks
Philip Rivers, SD (6,600) Rivers is throwing it a lot this year. Like, record-breaking amounts of throwing. And the Ravens are at the bottom of the league against the pass. The only thing that makes me wary is the location. Historically, West teams traveling East underperform. However, Rivers has proven that he can be quite successful in garbage time, so even if the team underachieves as a whole, he’ll probably have a good fantasy day.

Andy Dalton, CIN (6,000) It sounds weird saying it, but Andy Dalton is the best quarterback in fantasy so far this year. Only Brady is on his level up to this point. Yet he is CHEAPER THAN PEYTON MANNING. You are getting production from a consistent top-5 QB at a below-10 price tag. I don’t get it, but I’ll keep using him.
Running Backs
Todd Gurley, STL (6,300) If I need to convince you to play Todd Gurley, you shouldn’t be playing DFS. Just do it.
Justin Forsett, BAL ($6,100) As long as Forsett is running well and Baltimore has a pitiful run game, he’s the go-to man on the offense. I think he’s a lock for a good amount of touches and a touchdown. The Ravens are also favorites in the game, meaning Vegas at least thinks that game flow could eventually lean in Baltimore’s favor and Forsett could run down the clock if Baltimore somehow grabs into the lead.
Danny Woodhead, SD ($4,500) Woodhead is another player who could benefit from Baltimore gaining an early lead on Sunday. On DraftKings, Woodhead has such a high floor because of all the passes he catches. Gordon still hasn’t found his way in the NFL, so expect more Woodhead in the backfield which means more opportunities for easy points.
Next: Wide Receivers & Tight Ends

Wide Receivers
Antonio Brown, PIT ($7,800) Before Roethlisberger got injured, Brown was a weekly part of cash game lineups. I know you’ve probably felt burned by Brown at least once in the past few weeks, but let it go. Roethlisberger back, and all will be good with the world. And it doesn’t hurt that he’s substantially cheaper than he should be.
A.J. Green, CIN ($7,600) Like Antonio Brown, Green has been slightly disappointing over the last few weeks. But now coming off a bye against a weak Pittsburgh pass defense, I would be willing to get back on him. This game is going to have a lot of points scored, especially with Roethlisberger back.
Golden Tate, DET ($5,000) Second receivers who have had strong fantasy games against the Chiefs this season include Nate Washington, James Jones, Mohamed Sanu, Cameron Meredith, Stefon Diggs (he was #2 at the time) and Martavis Bryant. Golden Tate is good enough to be relied upon to make up his salary. I’d bet on him hitting either 100 yards or a touchdown, and possibly both.

Tight Ends
Tyler Eifert, CIN ($5,300) Eifert is not my favorite TE play this week, but if you’re going to pay up on the Sunday slate, it should be Eifert, who’s getting a consistent amount of targets from Dalton and scores touchdowns more reliably than almost any other tight end this side of Gronkowski.
Ladarius Green, SD ($2,900) Ladarius has been a consistent beneficiary of the massive passing attack of San Diego. He’s scored a touchdown in 4 of 6 games. And with his price so ridiculously low and no Antonio Gates for another week, he is a must-play in cash game lineups.
Next: Defense/Special Teams
October 22, 2015; Santa Clara, CA, USA; San Francisco 49ers running back Reggie Bush (top) is tackled by Seattle Seahawks strong safety Kam Chancellor (bottom) during the fourth quarter at Levi
Defenses/Special Teams
St. Louis Rams ($3,200) Last week, the Rams defense was pitifully underpriced and 2/3rds of the field took advantage of it. While their price rose, the matchup (at home against Kaepernick and the 49ers, implied team total is 11), no Carlos Hyde, and a blossoming offense, all suggest that the Rams will be worth every penny again this week in a cash game. Because of the price tag, they probably won’t be as highly owned as last week, but you still might be making a huge mistake by punting defense this week.

Seattle Seahawks ($3,700) The Seahawks defense is playing against Matt Cassel. Dallas’s implied point total is about 15. Do not overthink this play. The Rams may be $500 cheaper and just as smart of an option, but the Seahawks are just as likely to score D/ST TDs. And even in cash games having a little uniqueness to your roster can help ensure that you take as many H2H and 50/50s as possible.
