Best quarterback/wide receiver duos in NFL history

The National Football League has survived a revolution and come out on top — stronger than ever.
In 2015, the game of football has progressed much like the movie Back to the Future predicted motor vehicles would. It’s gone from the ground to the air. And, as we can all attest, the game is a lot more fun to watch now because of it.
While the ground-and-pound game still has a role in the league, quarterbacks dominate and are throwing the ball at an alarming rate. Running backs are now seeing their value change based on how well they can catch out of the backfield.
In a game against the San Francisco 49ers, New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning completed 41-of-54 pass attempts. He may have won two Super Bowls so far in his career, but anytime Manning throws 54 times in a game is absurd.
He’s not the only one tossing the rock without a care. Tom Brady threw a ridiculous 59 passes against the Buffalo Bills in week two and completed 39 of them.
Running the ball has basically become the Blockbuster Video of the NFL, and here comes Netflix flying through the air… taking all of the glory away. Luckily for running backs across the league, they’ll at least have a job in six months — well, some of them will.
In the first six weeks of the 2015 season the league’s top-10 leaders in pass attempts accumulated 1,966 pass attempts. Again, that’s almost 2,000 pass attempts by just 10 quarterbacks… through six weeks of the season. The top-10 leaders in rush attempts combined for just 872 carries through that same amount of time.
But as we continue to see all of these passes being thrown, more and more connections are being formed between these quarterbacks and their offensive weapons. However, that doesn’t detract from the go-to options that every quarterback has.
We’ve seen some truly great quarterback-wide receiver duos formed over the years. Here are the top-30 duos of all-time.
