Best quarterback/wide receiver duos in NFL history

29. Jeff Garcia and Terrell Owens
It took the San Francisco 49ers eight years to make the playoffs after Jeff Garcia left. He wasn’t exactly Joe Montana or Steve Young, but Garcia was pretty successful with San Francisco.
And while he was there, Garcia’s favorite target was, of course, Terrell Owens. Garcia and Owens hooked up for 50 touchdowns during their time together.
Garcia threw for 16,408 yards and 113 touchdowns while with the 49ers. He was there from 1999 to 2003 before leaving for the Cleveland Browns in 2004.
Owens, obviously, left after that 2003 season as well and went to the Philadelphia Eagles. Owens and Donovan McNabb hooked up for 20 touchdowns in just two years and led the Eagles to a Super Bowl loss against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, but they never had the type of chemistry Owens and Garcia had.
The one problem with Garcia’s time in San Francisco was that the 49ers just didn’t win. Garcia was 35-36 as the signal caller for San Fran. That’s a huge difference from the 37-11 record the team had in Owens’ first three years before Garcia came into the mix.
They might not have gotten along all of the time, but they certainly knew how to throw points up on the board. Owens did spend three years with the Dallas Cowboys and caught 36 touchdowns from Tony Romo, but that doesn’t even hold a candle to the production he had in four years with Garcia.
They might have been the best dysfunctional duo quarterback-wide receiver duo ever.
