Drew Brees hits Willie Snead for 34-yard touchdown off flea flicker (Video)
The Saints ran a flea flicker to perfection as Willie Snead caught a 34-yard touchdown
The New Orleans Saints conceded the first points of the game in their Week 8 matchup against the New York Giants, but they had some tricks left up their sleeve to get right back in it. On their next drive, the Saints pulled out the flea flicker to put some points of their own on the scoreboard.
Running back Mark Ingram took the handoff and almost fell down as he cut to pitch the ball back to Drew Brees, but ultimately got the ball back to his quarterback. Brees then decisively unleashed a beautiful throw towards Willie Snead in the endzone over two Giants defenders that Snead hauled in for six points:
Aside from Ingram almost taking a tumble, that was the flea flicker being run to perfection. Brees was quick in making his read and throw after getting the pitch back to him, the throw was right where it needed to be, and Snead made a nice grab to bring it down for the score.
The Saints have been showing a lot more life as of late, particularly on offense, than they did in the early going of the 2015 season. When you’re pulling out the flea flicker in the first quarter and getting big plays from it, the offense might just be clicking for New Orleans.
