The Detroit Lions were hoping that a trip to London might get quarterback Matthew Stafford to play like he has a pulse. Unfortunately, he is playing like a guy begging to be benched.

Stafford has already thrown two interceptions in the first half against the Kansas City Chiefs, contributing to a 24-3 second-quarter deficit. Stafford was under duress wehen he misfired the first time, hitting cornerback Sean Smith right in the hands.

On the second pick, Stafford had all day but threw late across the middle, a cardinal sin in the National Football League. The pass was broken up by safety Ron Parker and intercepted by Justin Houston. Stafford is 7-of-13 for 60 yards with zero touchdowns and the aforementioned two interceptions, making one wonder how long the Lions coaching staff will stick with him in this game if things continue to trend downward. Stafford was benched earlier this season against the Arizona Cardinals, making it a possibility. Hey, Twitter, what do you think of Stafford’s play so far?

Basically, things are not going well for the Lions or Stafford, who at this point looks dazed and confused.
