The Jets couldn’t bring Michael Crabtree down on this 36-yard touchdown reception

The Oakland Raiders knew that they were going up to be against one of the NFL’s best defenses on Sunday as they took on the New York Jets. However, Raiders wide receiver really didn’t seem to care once the game was underway as he took on almost half of the defense himself.

After Oakland had already taken a 7-3 lead, the Raiders were again driving at the start of the second quarter. In Jets territory, Derek Carr found Crabtree with a relatively short pass and room to run. Crabtree took off and went on to mow through three attempted tackles by the New York defense on his way to the endzone:

"Crabtree breaks two tackles at once and then one more on his way into the endzone."

I don’t care how vaunted and how good their defense has been this season; that’s abysmal tackling on the part of the Jets right there. You have to commend Crabtree for not shying away from and fighting through the contact, but there can’t be that much contact and the ball carrier not go down if you’re the defense.

Crabtree’s beastly score put the Raiders even further ahead of the Jets by a count of 14-3 in the first half. If that’s the way the Jets are going to tackle and the fearlessness the Raiders are going to play with, this could wind up being a huge blowout in favor of Oakland.
