Reggie Bush suffered a torn ACL on Sunday, but is his career over a a result?

The career of Reggie Bush might be coming to an end if the reports about the seriousness of his injury are to be believed. On Sunday, Bush slipped while trying to  stop his momentum on the sideline which forced him to be carted to the locker room.

According to Ian Rapoport from NFL Network, Bush tore his ACL on Sunday.

The real question here is whether or not this ends Bush’s career. We saw Steve Smith tear is achilles tendon on Sunday against the Chargers, which effectively ends his career as it ends the final season he committed to play.

Will this ACL injury do the same for Bush?

You have to wonder how many teams would be willing to give Bush a shot after his torn ACL when only the 49ers were willing to give him a shot when his ACL was still working the way it should. The Raiders are usually the team that give players at the end of the line like Bush a shot — but they’re actually good for once which changes the way they waste their money on contracts.

Bush might come back, but people aren’t talking about how there was already weened interested in Bush when he was on the market this summer and that’s when he was relatively healthy. Now that he has to rehab from an ACL injury, the best that Bush can hope for is a job as the third string training camp option for someone like Tampa Bay or Houston before being cut as one of the veteran cuts before the rosters are finalized.
