The Kansas City Chiefs are in a rut, but there is no chance that Andy Reid is fired before he gets another crack at things next year.

Despite beating the hapless Detroit Lions on Sunday in London, the Chiefs are still a team in turmoil as they attempt to turn their season around from the dumpster fire it was earlier. Kansas City isn’t out of things in the AFC playoff race yet, but the recent string of bad games have led to fans starting t o question if Andy Reid is the guy to lead the team into the future.

Needless to say, he is — at least for now.

According to Terez Paylor, Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt has full confidence in Andy Reid and won’t be firing him anytime soon.

"“I have full confidence in Andy and John. I think they’re the right guys to lead us, not only this year, but going forward.”"

That’s exactly what you say after a 45-10 win over a team, but it’s also what you say when Andy Reid is your head coach. He’s not going to blow anyone out of the water, but the Chiefs are in a perfect position to succeed with Reid as their head coach and it might be hard to find someone better than him.

Kansas City isn’t in a position to rebuild just yet, and Andy Reid as their head coach puts them in line to win better than they would with anyone else.
