Carey Price, Jamie Benn, David Krejci named NHL 3 stars of month
Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price, Dallas Stars forward Jamie Benn, and Boston Bruins forward David Krejci are the NHL’s three stars for the month of October
The month of October saw some impressive performances by individual players in the NHL. Three players stood out above everyone else, though. Dallas Stars forward Jamie Benn, Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price, and Boston Bruins forward David Krejci have been named the three stars of the month for October.
David Krejci has started off his season hot. The Boston Bruins have desperately needed him thanks to injuries and he has answered the bell vigorously. He has 15 points (seven goals and eight assists) in his team’s first ten games and he currently ranks third in the NHL in goals and points. The Bruins have rebounded after a rough three-game losing streak to start the season and Krejci has been a huge reason for their recent resurgence.
Carey Price has managed to find a way to exceed expectations even after putting them sky high after a borderline historic season in 2014-2015. Carey Price has started the season with a 7-2-0 record as the Canadiens are off to the best 13 game start (11-2-0) in well over 40 seasons. Price leads the NHL in wins (seven) and shutouts (two). He also has a 93.6% save percentage. People expected Price to regress a bit after last season, but he apparently didn’t get that memo.
Jamie Benn is a huge reason why the Dallas Stars have quickly become the favorites to win the Western Conference. The 2014-2015 Art Ross Trophy winner is motivated to prove to everyone that last season was no fluke. He is tied for first in the NHL with nine goals and currently leads the league with 18 points. He has multi-point games in six of his first eleven games as the Stars are on top of a competitive Central Division.
