Fantasy football week 8 continued the season-long trend of big passing numbers as quarterbacks, wide receivers, and tight ends continued to produce big fantasy numbers while running backs struggled.  In case you missed any of the action from a busy Sunday in the NFL, check out my fantasy football week 8 recap highlighting the studs, duds, and sleepers from all of Thursday and Sunday’s action.

More from Denver Broncos

Week 8 was a brutal one for fantasy football owners as injuries continued to mount and important fantasy contributors suffered significant injuries.  Steve Smith, Le’Veon Bell, Matt Forte, Keenan Allen, Calvin Johnson, Kendall Wright, Khiry Robinson, Eddie Royal, Ladarius Green, Larry Donnell, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Reggie Bush all were injured and missed part or all of the game this week.

As I’ve done each week of the season, I’ve put together a fantasy recap breaking down some of the biggest studs, some of the biggest duds, and the biggest sleepers at each of the main fantasy football positions–quarterback, running back, wide receiver, and tight end.  Before we get to the breakdown, here are some quick reminders of the definition of the categories. “Studs” are players who came into the week with high expectations and came through for their fantasy owners.  On the other hand, the “duds” are players who were expected to perform this week but failed to deliver.  Finally at each position, I’ve listed “sleepers” who are some of the players who weren’t expected to make big fantasy contributions but who had solid fantasy football week 8’s and may have some sleeper value for your fantasy team moving forward.

There were some nice road wins this week as the Bucs, Vikings, and Bengals all got road wins against divisional opponents.  The Chiefs, Saints, and Giants all had big offensive days, and the Cardinals and Bucs, Ravens, Vikings, and Seahawks all won with late scores.  Giants, Patriots, Raiders, and Vikings getting important wins.  New England’s win on Thursday Night Football keep its undefeated season alive while the Bengals won to move to 7-0 early in the afternoon. On Sunday Night Football in a battle of unbeaten teams, the Broncos defense dominated Green Bay moving Denver to 7-0 with the Patriots and the Bengals.
