Jose Mourinho has been given a one-match stadium ban along with a fine for admitting to an FA misconduct charge.

Jose Mourinho’s start to the 2015/16 Barclays Premier League campaign as defending league champions has been a rocky one as the Chelsea manager has been in the headlines for all of the wrong reasons. The attention-grabbing gaffer dealing with plenty of controversies both on and off of the pitch as Chelsea continue to sink down the league table going into November.

Today, Mourinho is in the headlines as he has been given a one-match stadium ban by the English FA for misconduct that he admitted to regarding a halftime incident against West Ham where Mourinho berated the officials in the dressing room area in what was another difficult loss for Chelsea.

The FA released a press release on Monday announcing that Mourinho would be banned from the stadium for Chelsea’s upcoming league match against Stoke City on November 7. A big blow for the manager who is under pressure to avoid getting the sack at Stamford Bridge with the club currently 15th in the table with just 11 points.

From the FA’s press release on Mourinho’s match ban:

"Following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing today, Jose Mourinho has been given a one-match stadium suspension with immediate effect and fined £40,000.The Chelsea manager admitted an FA charge of misconduct regarding his language and/or behaviour towards the match officials in or around the dressing room area during half-time of the game against West Ham United on 24 October 2015.With regard to Chelsea coach Silvino Louro, who denied an FA misconduct charge in relation to the same game, The FA, having considered further representation, withdrew the formal charge of improper conduct but reminded him of his responsibilities."

Missing this weekend’s league match, Mourinho will be under pressure to deliver a big result at home in the Champions League against Ukranian side Dynamo Kyiv. Also struggling in Europe in third place with just four points after three matches, Mourinho may need a convincing win to begin to save his job. With Chelsea seemingly out of the EPL chase and Mourinho creating scandals with his antics, this stadium ban could be the beginning of the end for ‘The Special One’ in West London.
