The Kansas City Royals are World Series champs, and people in Missouri cannot contain themselves.

We live in a world — for the next year at least — where the Kansas City Royals are World Series champions. They were down a few different times in the postseason, but never once gave up. That was true right up to the very end of the World Series, as the Royals used a comeback effort in Game 5 to tie the game and force extras before exploding in the 12th inning to win their first championship in 30 years.

Needless to say, Royals fans all over were losing their minds, as Royals bars across Missouri and the country went crazy after the final out of the World Series was recorded.

It wasn’t a clean win, but the Royals were never a clean team. From fighting their way — literally — back to the top of the American League this season to the way they came back against the Astros and Blue Jays to make it to the World Series, the Royals were as gritty as it gets. Their fans knew this about their team, which made it all the more special to see them win the World Series the way they almost did last season against San Francisco.

Royals fans lost their minds when the team won the World Series on Sunday against the Mets, and it’s a scene that fans won’t soon forget.
