The first firing in the purge of the 2015 Indianapolis Colts coaching staff has happened.

After an incredibly rough start to their season, the Indianapolis Colts are beginning the inevitable purging of the coaching staff as the bottom continues to fall out.

According to reports, Pep Hamilton is the first of what will probably be many firings in Indianapolis this season.

This doesn’t come as surprising news, as the Colts have been atrocious this year — but that has been in large part due to the fact that Andrew luck has been playing broken all year long. If the Colts want to scapegoat Pep Hamilton, that’s fine but it’s not his fault that the Colts are as bad as they are.

Luck is broken, there’s no offensive line and it was probably not Pep’s decision to draft Philip Dorsett in the first round when there were glaring needs elsewhere and plenty of prospects available that could have filled those needs. Hamilton was probably going to get fired at the end of the year when the slate is wiped clean, but the fact that he’s the first one to go is further proof that this is merely the calm before the storm of firings.
