David Cobb-RB-Tennessee Titans (14.9%)

The Titans’ backfield is a confusing mess with carries divided between Antonio Andrews, Dexter McCluster, and even Bishop Sankey.  The most impressive back in training camp and preseason was rookie David Cobb who looked like he was headed for the lead role in the backfield timeshare. However, just before the season Cobb was placed on IR with a severe calf injury and is just now eligible to come off the short-term IR.

Cobb has yet to play a single snap in the NFL, and coach Ken Whisenhunt said he is no sure thing to return this week after returning “a little heavy” and raising concerns about “weight and conditioning.” The former-Golden Gopher has been practicing with the team and expects to be activated, but there is no telling what exactly to expect.

At this point, Cobb is a stash in deep leagues or where RB options are few and far between.  He could emerge as the winner of a good amount of carries when he does come back, but he’s in no shape to start for your team this week.  If you’re looking for a good back later in the season and can afford to wait, he’s worth a gamble if you have low waiver priority and don’t have a chance to get Williams or Langford.
