J.J. Watt was in attendance for the Houston Rockets first win of the season, and he tried to check in to play.

J.J. Watt as a basketball player, one can only imagine that. For fans in attendance for the Houston Rockets’ first win of the season (110-105 over the Oklahoma City Thunder), it nearly became a reality. The “flex-cam” came on during a timeout at the Rockets game, and at the conclusion of the segment, one of the Rockets’ mascots gave J.J. Watt a Rockets jersey and flexed for him.

Watt put the jersey on, which pulled together his Houston outfit nicely as he was also sporting a Houston Astros hat. He immediately felt a sense of competition, going over to the scorer’s table to check in for the game, to help the Rockets win.

Of course, he was joking, and didn’t actually go into the game, but it was a funny little stunt. He stood next to James Harden as he did so, and Harden didn’t even crack a smile. He didn’t seem to appreciate it as much as the fans in attendance did, apparently he was too focused on the game.

Houston has had some major sports woes the past few months. Watt and the Texans only won three of their first eight games, and they really hit a low when they got blown out by the Miami Dolphins 44-26.

The Rockets haven’t been much better, losing their first two games by twenty points before winning in Monday night’s matchup against the Thunder. J.J. Watt might have been the difference for that game, and they might want to consider having him nearly check in to every game to instill some fear into opposing teams.
