The NFL regular season is halfway done, and the surprises keep coming.

Certain stories that were surprising in Week 1 have become predictable as the season progresses. The Seattle Seahawks continue to struggle, barely eking out a victory over the Tony-Romo-less Dallas Cowboys with a very close score of 13-12.

Fans are also used to the occasional ineptitude of NFL referees, along with the horrible state of the Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Bears, and Cleveland Browns. Some of these teams have been struggling for years, while others are new to their current level of suckage.

Some surprises from Week 7 proved to be more than flukes. Kansas City Chiefs running back Charcandrick West had his break out game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and continued that momentum against the Detroit Lions, racking up 97 yards on the ground and 25 through the air en route to his team’s 45-10 victory in London.

For other surprises, the jury is out. The Miami Dolphins looked awfully good in their first two games under interim head coach Dan Campbell. Naysayers said the Dolphins only played well because their competition was so weak. In Week 8, the Dolphins faced off against the league-leading New England Patriots, and, not surprisingly, struggled throughout the game, losing 36-7 in Foxboro.

What surprises made the list for Week 8? Let’s take a look.
