No. 10 Iowa (-7) over Indiana

Run far away from this game. It is probably my least favorite pick among top-25 games, as I have zero lean. I’m taking the Hawkeyes because I keep losing when fading them. That is the full explanation.

Colorado (+16) over No. 9 Stanford

According to the good folks at Sports Insights, 75% of the action is on Stanford as a road favorite. That isn’t at all surprising given the Cardinal’s recent play, but the line is actually falling, which is usually a strong indication that the smart people like the underdog. I’ll ride with them, even if I think Colorado might lose by 35. Take the points.

Pittsburgh (+8) over No. 8 Notre Dame

When in doubt, take the points. I don’t have a firm lean on this game in either direction, as this is probably the right line. Pittsburgh is surprisingly competent and getting more than a touchdown at home here, but the Irish are still rolling after an impressive come-from-behind win over Temple. Take solace in the fact that the public are almost certainly on Notre Dame because, well, they always are.

No. 6 Michigan State (-5) over Nebraska

Everyone, and I mean everyone, loves Michigan State here. The Spartans have received 95% of the action according to Sports Insights, and for the life of me, I can’t figure out this line. As such, I am terrified about actually backing Sparty here, but if forced to make a pick, I can’t take the Huskers with less than a touchdown.
