Week 10 of the 2015 college football schedule is packed with high-profile games, but what teams that enter as ranked favorites should be on upset alert?
It’s finally here. After nine weeks of waiting, we’ve got a packed slate of high-profile college football games including three mega matchups that have national championship implications for the teams in action.
Now ranked No. 1 in the nation as a result of the College Football Playoff committee’s initial rankings and with the toughest game of their schedule on tap Saturday, you might expect Clemson to be featured among our teams on upset alert again this week. And while the Tigers are 12-point favorites at home against No. 16 Florida State, and a win by the Seminoles would technically be an upset, it wouldn’t necessarily be all that surprising. After all, Clemson hasn’t beaten Florida State since 2011 and the Seminoles are talented enough to beat anyone.
The same is true for the other two heavyweight bouts this week. No. 2 LSU is certainly capable of beating No. 4 Alabama in Tuscaloosa despite being a six-point underdog, and a win by No. 14 Oklahoma State against 5.5-point favorite No. 8 TCU would be a surprise but not a shock since both teams are still undefeated.
Simply put, because they are playing in such big games, Clemson, Alabama and TCU don’t need to be on upset alert. Their senses are already cranked up to 11.
Therefore, we’ll skip those matchups and instead we’ll focus on four under the radar games in which ranked and favored teams will be tested. Let’s take a close look at four college football teams on upset alert in Week 10.
