Blake Griffin dribbled through Golden State’s defense before going to Lob City with DeAndre Jordan

The Los Angeles Clippers looked like they were on deck to be the next victim of the Golden State Warriors early on in their matchup on Wednesday night, but the Clippers hung around and made a game of it in the second half. Blake Griffin had a big hand in that for the Clippers, including running the offense as the ball-handler for at least one beautiful play.

As Los Angeles was closing in before taking a lead at the end of the third quarter, Griffin grabbed a defensive rebound and took the ball up the floor himself. He then ran a pick-and-roll with DeAndre Jordan, which led to Blake crossing up Draymond Green, freezing Marreese Speights, and then hitting Jordan with a double-pump lob for the finish:

For one reason or another, fans sometimes sleep on the development of Griffin for the Clippers, but the big man has developed into an undeniable superstar. There aren’t many guys his size that have that kind of ball handling and playmaking in their arsenal.

With all of the storylines between the Clippers and Warriors throughout the offseason, we knew that there were going to be fireworks when these two teams faced off this year. Between Griffin, Stephen Curry, comebacks, and everything else, the budding rivalry hasn’t disappointed on Wednesday night.
