Festus Ezeli denies Blake Griffin at the rim (Video)

Early in their matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers, Golden State Warriors’ player Festus Ezeli denied Blake Griffin at the rim in a huge way.

Prime time matchup are the perfect time to put on your best shoes, and go out and make big plays. Fetus Ezeli of the Golden State Warriors clearly understands this. Blake Griffin tried to understand this, but was just simply, and utterly outdone by Ezeli when he met him at the rim.

Anyone who knows Griffin knows he goes to the hoop for his dunks hard, but that didn’t scare Ezeli in the slightest. Ezeli met Griffin at the rim as he attempted his dunk, and stopped it with force, even pushing his hand out of the normal trajectory, and knocking the ball off of the backboard.

This leaves a matchup to be watched for the rest of the game, as Griffin and Ezeli will be getting friendly for another three quarters following this play.

So far this year, Ezeli has been all over the defense, averaging 1.8 blocks per game, which blows his previous personal record of 0.9 per game out of the water. The Warriors are hoping he can keep that up for the whole season, especially on big stages like this. If he can, he’ll be a serious contributor to another championship run for the Warriors.
