Starting pitcher Johnny Cueto will be one of the most sought after arms in free agency. Here are five potential suitors for the World Series champion.

Johnny Cueto is one of the best arms available in free agency this off-season. Depending on who you ask, he might be the best arm available. In an off-season that will feature Zack Greinke and David Price, Johnny Cueto has a distinct advantage over the two aces: his age. Cueto (29 years old) is younger than both Greinke (32 years old) and Price (30 years old). Cueto turns 30 in February while Price turns 31 in August.

Over the past three seasons, Cueto has been quite comparable to Greinke and Price. He hasn’t been quite as good as them, but he’s still a legitimate ace. Whoever wants to add an ace and doesn’t sign Greinke and Price will likely come calling for Cueto. Cueto likely won’t get the salary per year that Greinke and Price will get, but he could get the most years of the trio because he’s younger (even if it is just by six months).

Cueto’s market is going to be pretty simple. Every big market team is going to want him. Two of his targets will likely remove themselves by signing Price or Greinke. Regardless, Cueto is going to get paid a huge sum of money by somebody this off-season. Here are five teams that will most likely give him that huge sum of money.
