The Portland Trail Blazers are off to a much better start than anyone outside of the locker room anticipated, and that continued tonight as they marched into whatever the hell they call the Jazz’ arena nowadays and left with a 108-92 victory.

A large part of both tonight’s win and their early season success, has been C.J. McCollum. The young guard out of Lehigh dropped 27 points tonight, and has been putting up over 22 points a night this season.

Since he went to Lehigh and to this point in his young career has struggled to consistently find the court, it is understandable if you aren’t too familiar with McCollum. But that will soon change, especially when he’s doing things like this.

My goodness, this is filthy. Trey Burke just had no chance. McCollum rocked him to sleep with a few between-the-legs crossovers, then hit him with the between-the-legs into a behind-the-back into a crossover combo move before pulling up for the jumper.

That’s not even too bad of defense by Burke. Sometimes great offense beats good defense, especially when you’ve got a crossover like that to free yourself.

Straight cash, homie.
