DeMarco Murray has stated that he has no regrets about leaving the Dallas Cowboys in favor of NFC East rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles.

DeMarco Murray was one of the biggest free agent stories this season. The NFL leading rusher was simply stupendous last season in Dallas, but the Cowboys had both him and star wide receiver, Dez Bryant, to tie up in the offseason. Cap space was the ultimate issue once Murray started testing the open market, and Jerry Jones couldn’t match the money that the Eagles were offering with Bryant to sign later that summer. Murray duly moved over to join Chip Kelly and his Eagles experiment, replacing LeSean McCoy, signing a 5-year, $42 million contract.

After rushing for a franchise record 1,845 yards last season, Murray was highly valued throughout the NFL, and Kelly was eager to secure his signature. Murray, however, has simply not lived up to his billing since arriving in Philadelphia, racking up only 307 yards on 88 carries at an average of 3.5 yards per carry. With his imminent return to AT&T Stadium on Sunday night, Murray defended his move across the NFC East, telling reporters: “There are no regrets on my part.”

Murray also touched on how Cowboys fans will receive him on Sunday.

“I have no idea,” Murray said. “We’ll see Sunday night. … I’m sure emotions will be high for a lot of people, but it’s just another game.”

Murray has so far been a monumental flop in Philadelphia. Many have blamed Chip Kelly for not getting his star running back going, some have blamed the porous Eagles’ offensive line and others have blamed Murray himself. What cannot be doubted, however, is that Murray himself has no regrets about his move, and is still hopeful for the future.
