Following a DUI arrest, former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb will serve 18 days in jail and have many more repercussions.

Not long ago, former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb was still flying high, relevant in the NFL world because of his sports radio show on NBC called Under Center With McNabb and Malone. Things changed on June 28th when he was arrested for a DUI following crashing into a car.

That night, McNabb was pulled over, and a bottle of tequila was found in his trunk. An officer questioned his breath, which smelled of alcohol, but McNabb’s defense for that was that he had taken cold medicine and cough drops. He admitted to being in a bar earlier in the night, but not to being intoxicated. He did end up pleading guilty to the charges.

According to TMZ, McNabb’s sentence has been released, and he will serve 18 days in jail as a repercussion for his actions that night. On top of that, once he is released, he will serve 72 days of home detention, 30 hours of community service, counseling, and probation, all on top of a fine more than $6,000. This was not McNabb’s first DUI offense, which is likely the reason for his stiff punishments.

McNabb was subsequently kicked off of the radio show, now titled just Under Center With Mark Malone. It’s not clear if they intend to bring him back on the show at any point.

McNabb once led the Eagles to an NFC Championship, but his life has been anything bit positive lately with this arrest, and now his punishments.
